The sessions available are a mixture of morning and afternoon/evening sessions. The morning sessions are not coached, but are run by one of the captains and are more endurance based training. Evening sessions are run by our coach and are a mixture of technique, speed and endurance.
The coach for the squad is Danny Martland, an ex-swimmer who has trained with many different clubs. As well as being highly qualified, he has a great enthusiasm for the sport and is keen to push everyone to achieve whatever their goals are.
The club can cater to those with all sorts of swimming backgrounds. The competitive squad ranges from those who have had some years out of competitive swimming who wish to get back in to the sport, right through to those who wish to continue their training at university. For those who are less experienced, the Swimming for Fitness group allows people to develop skills and improve their overall swimming capabilities with structured training they may not find elsewhere whilst at university.
